System Overview
Ideas-Shared is a purpose-built online environment and methodology that helps individuals, informal groups and organisations work together on things they want to change, improve, stop, protect, create or achieve.

It gives people a common way to make ambitions visible, turn them into activities others can understand, invite participation, coordinate work and move towards outcomes. This can support personal, professional and societal ambitions, from a small act of help to a much larger shared effort.
At its heart is Intelligent Collaboration: people choose what matters to them, discover where they can contribute, and organise around ambitions without needing everyone to share the same background, role or point of view.
Ideas-Shared uses one participation model across two environments. The Global Hub is open to participation across locations and interests. Private Hubs provide dedicated environments for organisations and communities. Both use the same core method and tools.
A common process for turning ambition into action
The 7 Step Process gives an ambition a practical route forward:
- Register an ambition
- Post an activity listing
- Share the listing
- Build a team
- Plan tasks
- Execute tasks
- Deliver and move forward
The steps provide structure, while leaving room for ambitions to differ. A simple activity may need only a few steps; a more complex ambition may need a team and sustained coordination.
Designed to work across many kinds of activity
Ideas-Shared is structured to support:
- Individuals, informal groups and organisations
- 284 regional, country and area locations
- 12 Ambition Areas: Personal, Community, Social, Cultural, Business, Financial, Economic, Environmental, Political, Scientific, Spiritual and Technological
- Four high-level outcomes: Challenge Assumptions, Make Others Aware, Stop What Needs Stopping and Co-Create New Realities
- 19 everyday activity and listing types
- 149 topical interest areas
Together, these make it possible to explore what matters, find relevant activities and people, and organise participation around ambitions at different scales.
Ideas-Shared changes the way people come together to get things done—personally, professionally and societally.
