The story in brief

The internet connected billions of people. It didn’t help them coordinate. Ideas-Shared is the first practical attempt to fix that – a coordination system built not on attention, engagement, or algorithms, but on structured human ambition and collective action.

Built over seven years by Bob Thompson – ex-Army, MCIPS procurement professional, and the architect behind national-scale safety and procurement outcomes – Ideas-Shared introduces what it calls the Ambition Economy: a practical alternative to the attention economy in which people trade collaboration for progress rather than attention for distraction.

The platform is live, open to anyone over 16, and operates across two environments: a Global Hub for open coordination and Private Hubs for organisations requiring structured delivery at scale.

Areas of editorial interest

Ideas-Shared attracts media interest across several overlapping themes:

  • Coordination infrastructure as a response to social fragmentation and polarisation
  • Bottom-up participation and collective agency in an era of institutional distrust
  • The attention economy and what replaces it
  • Digital systems designed for outcomes rather than engagement
  • Procurement, operational transformation, and systems thinking applied to societal problems
  • Practical models for cross-sector and cross-perspective collaboration

Bob Thompson – available for interview and commentary

Bob Thompson, co-founder and architect of Ideas-Shared, is available for interviews, podcasts, panel discussions, written contributions, and background briefings.

His background spans military service, MCIPS-qualified procurement leadership, systems design since the early 1980s, and decades of solving coordination problems others considered too complex or too political. He is a direct, experienced voice on the gap between what people care about and what actually gets delivered.

Topics include coordination challenges in modern society, fragmentation as an operational problem, procurement and organisational transformation, and building systems that convert intention into measurable outcomes.

A note on the story

Ideas-Shared is being built as long-term coordination infrastructure – not a short-term media moment. We welcome thoughtful coverage that explores how people and organisations coordinate action, how fragmentation affects outcomes, and how neutral infrastructure can support constructive progress across society.
